Different from: Aizoaceae: perianth undifferentiated (tepals). - Callitrichaceae: leaves triplinerved, calyx and corolla absent.
Distribution: Th The family worldwide consisting of two genera, both also in Malesia: Bergia and Elatine, plants of wet localities e.
