Shrubs or subshrubs. Stipules present. Leaves unifoliolate or pinnately trifoliolate. Stipellae present. Inflorescences terminal or terminal and axillary, pseudoracemes, rarely pseudopanicles. Bracts to the brachyblasts early caducous. Brachyblasts with up to 20 flowers and several buds per node (see note under the species). Bracts to the flowers persistent. Bracteoles absent. Calyx bilabiate, broadly campanulate; upper lip highly connate, bidentate; lower lip tridentate, median tooth longer than others. Corolla: standard without callosities, wings much shorter than the keel. Stamens diadelphous (9 + 1), vexillary one free, connate filaments alternately longer and shorter. Disc absent. Ovary with 1 ovule. Pods (loments) ± strap-like, slightly falcate, shortly stipitate, compressed, indehiscent. Seeds transversely narrowly elliptic, rim aril inconspicuous.
Distribution — Monotypic. Endemic to Malesia: Philippines, Celebes, Moluccas, New Guinea.
